Harder & Steenbeck Evolution – Professional Airbrush Made in Germany
The Harder & Steenbeck Evolution is one of the most widely used professional airbrushes worldwide – developed and manufactured in Germany. It combines precise craftsmanship, a smooth double-action mechanism, and a highly stable nozzle system that allows for fine lines, soft gradients, and large-area work alike.
New FineLine Head Design
The new FineLine head design of the Evolution 2024 represents a significant step forward in precision and control.
The new nozzles in 0.28 mm and 0.45 mm deliver noticeably finer lines than the previous 0.2 mm variants – and with significantly higher stability.
Because they clog less and seal better, flow and line quality remain more consistent, even with challenging paints like metallics or highly pigmented detail colors.
For maximum flexibility, the Evolution 2024 is available as a Solo version (0.28 mm, 2 ml cup) or as a 2-in-1 model (0.28 mm & 0.45 mm, 2 ml & 5 ml).
This allows you to cover both detail work and larger areas – without having to upgrade later.
Eccentric Cam Control
The Evolution 2024 features a newly developed eccentric cam system
which transfers the movement between finger and needle with significantly greater precision. The trigger responds noticeably more directly, allowing even the finest color gradients to be controlled with greater precision – ideal for illustration, tabletop, model making, and detail work.
The integrated Speed Clean Trigger offers around 20% more needle travel, enabling a faster rinsing and cleaning process. Fewer interruptions, more flow – the Evolution 2024 is clearly designed for clean lines, smooth work, and high speed.

Three versions, one system
The EVOLUTION 2024 is based on a modular architecture that allows the airbrush to be precisely tailored to the desired application. Depending on the version, it is designed for maximum precision, higher paint flow, or as an all-round solution.
The Solo version 121231 with a 0.28 mm nozzle is aimed at users who require the finest lines, controlled color gradients, and precise detail work – ideal for illustration, tabletop, model making, and fine custom work.
The Solo version 121232 with a 0.45 mm nozzle is designed for more heavily pigmented and coarser paints. It offers a more stable flow and is particularly suitable for paints such as Createx, Wicked Colors, or Metallics, where larger pigments and higher material throughput are required.
The 2in1 version 121233 combines both nozzles, covering both detail work and higher paint application with a single airbrush. The quick change between 0.28 mm and 0.45 mm allows the working range to be flexibly adjusted without compromising control or flow.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Evolution 2024
Which nozzle size is right for me - 0.28 mm or 0.45 mm?
- The 0.28mm nozzle is designed for fine lines, controlled gradients, and precise detail work. Many common airbrush paints can be easily processed with it; often, a slight adjustment of the viscosity is sufficient to achieve a stable paint flow.
- The 0.45mm nozzle is particularly suitable for more highly pigmented paints and applications requiring a larger material flow. Due to the larger nozzle cross-section, there is less resistance in the medium, which also results in a smoother and more controllable line work even for detailed tasks.
For most users, the 2in1 version (121233) is the most practical solution, as it combines both nozzle systems and thus covers both fine detail work and bolder applications.
What is the advantage of the 2-in-1 version?
